Every CPA designation starts with someone getting the details right. That is this role.
CPA Ontario is not like other organizations
We operate at a rare intersection, both regulator and membership body, responsible for upholding the integrity of the CPA designation while supporting more than 105,000 members and 19,000 students across the province. Our work sits between business and the public interest, between the evolving demands of industry and the standards that make trust possible.
Careers built here tend to look different because the work itself is different. You are not simply contributing to an organization. You are helping shape a profession that touches nearly every sector of the economy at a moment when expectations, technology, and the nature of work are all being rewritten.
About This Opportunity
As Student Services Specialist, you will coordinate and review student and prospect applications, documents and work experience records within the Student Services business unit, working across the Employer Relations and Student Assessments and Registrations teams. You will conduct assessments, resolve complex inquiries from students, employers and internal stakeholders, support employer compliance, and maintain the accuracy of the records that program decisions depend on. This is an opportunity for a detail-oriented professional who exercises sound judgement in applying policy, thrives in a high-volume environment, and is motivated by work that keeps students moving toward the CPA designation. This is a 6-to-12-month contract position.
What You’ll Be Doing:
- Conduct assessments of student records, completion reports and work experience submissions in accordance with established policies, regulations and program requirements, reviewing documentation to determine eligibility, compliance and completeness.
- Apply qualified judgement when evaluating complex cases, identify issues that require escalation, and ensure consistency, quality and compliance in assessment outcomes while maintaining established service standards.
- Serve as a primary point of contact for students, prospects, employers and internal stakeholders on transcript assessment, student registration and practical experience requirements,
providing expert guidance on program expectations, reporting requirements and compliance obligations.
- Lead discussions with employers to address compliance concerns, reporting issues and required corrective actions, and support employer onboarding, maintenance and program administration activities.
- Maintain the accuracy, consistency and integrity of student and employer records within Student Services systems, reviewing and updating records to ensure compliance with organizational standards and assisting with data cleanup and ongoing system improvement initiatives.
- Generate reports and analyze information to support operational decision-making and program monitoring, monitor workflows and support workload distribution, and identify trends, risks and recurring issues with recommended actions that support program integrity.
To Be Successful You Need:
- A post-secondary degree or diploma in Business or a related discipline, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- A minimum of three to five years of experience in operations, administration, compliance, or customer, student or member services, or a related field.
- Experience interpreting policies, standards, regulations or program requirements, with a demonstrated ability to exercise sound judgement and make decisions within established guidelines.
- Proven ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a high-volume environment, with a high degree of accuracy, attention to detail and commitment to data integrity.
- Proficiency with the Microsoft Office Suite and with Salesforce or a comparable CRM or case management system, along with strength in planning, coordination and organization, and a focus on quality assurance and continuous improvement.
- Excellent written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills,
with strong customer service and stakeholder relationship management, analytical and problem-solving abilities, and a collaborative, accountable approach.
Salary Range
- The starting annual salary range for this position is between $66,300 - $82,900 per annum, based on your qualifications, experience, and internal parity. Exceptions may be considered with further review.
