We're hiring: Summer Maintenance Worker

Sturgeon Public Schools is seeking one (1) Summer Maintenance Worker to support the Facilities Services team during the month of September. Reporting to the Director of Facilities Services, this position assists with maintenance and groundskeeping projects across the Division.

Well-maintained schools and grounds help create safe, welcoming environments for students and staff. As a Summer Maintenance Worker, you contribute to important projects that prepare our schools and facilities for the upcoming school year. Your efforts help ensure that learning spaces are clean, functional, and ready to support student success.

What You Do

- Perform groundskeeping and landscaping duties
- Complete painting and general maintenance tasks
- Assist trades staff with assigned projects
- Move furniture and materials as required
- Maintain shop areas and worksites
- Operate groundskeeping equipment
- Support other maintenance-related duties as assigned

- Maintains organization and attention to detail when completing maintenance projects and caring for tools, equipment, and workspaces.
- Represents Sturgeon Public Schools professionally through respectful interactions with staff, students, and community members.

What You Bring

- Valid driver's license with a clean driver's abstract
- Related maintenance or labour experience
- Transparent Criminal Record with Vulnerable Sector Check

Experience Operating Equipment Such As

- Riding lawn mower
- Push mower
- Backpack blower
- Weed whipper
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
- Physical capability to work in various conditions, including dust and noise
