PACT (Pearson Accelerator Construction Team) is a General Partnership of Alberici, Amico, Kenaidan, and Obayashi, supported by design partners Egis, Mott MacDonald, and Weston Williamson + Partners. Together, we are delivering Accelerator, a major program of Pearson LIFT (Long-term Investment in Facilities and Terminals), Toronto Pearson's infrastructure development plan. This multi-year program is designed to address immediate passenger growth demands while preparing Canada’s largest airport for the future of air travel—including critical upgrades to airfield and infrastructure, greenhouse gas reduction initiatives, modernization of Terminals 1 and 3, and the creation of a world-class passenger experience.
Responsibilities
- Oversee daily site construction activities to ensure safe, efficient, high-quality execution. Document
- Coordinate and direct subcontractors, labour forces, equipment, and materials. • Maintain constant site presence to monitor progress, resolve issues, and uphold PACT and GTAA requirements.
- Lead daily safety briefings, enforce safety protocols, and conduct site inspections.
- Manage site logistics including laydown, access, hoarding, equipment movement, and material delivery.
- Collaborate with the Construction Manager to maintain 2-week and 6-week lookaheads and support schedule adherence.
- Identify potential delays or conflicts early and recommend corrective actions.
- Review work for compliance with drawings, specifications, and quality standards.
- Support completion of inspections, testing, checklists, and field documentation.
- Maintain accurate daily site reports, manpower logs, progress photos, and issue tracking.
- Coordinate field interfaces with other Sub-Programs, airport operations, utilities, and GTAA stakeholders.
- Support field-level responses to RFIs, NCRs,
and technical issues.
Desired Skills & Qualifications
- Proven experience as a Superintendent in heavy civil, aviation, electrical, utilities, or large-scale infrastructure construction.
- Robust understanding of construction sequencing, field coordination, and subcontractor management,
- Ability to interpret drawings, specifications, and construction documentation.
- Excellent communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills in a fast-paced environment.
- Demonstrated commitment to safety and experience leading work in high-risk environments.
- Experience working in live operational settings (aviation, transportation, industrial) considered an asset.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple work fronts simultaneously.
- Ability to work nights, weekends, or restricted work windows as required by airport operations.
- Familiarity with GTAA procedures or RAIC-controlled environments is an advantage.
Your work schedule will be during site hours. Flexibility to work nights and weekends, as required by the construction schedule, is expected. Any schedule changes or on-call requirements will be managed in accordance with applicable employment standards legislation. It is mandatory for all employees to complete a Criminal Background check and successfully attain a Restricted Access Identity Card (RAIC) upon joining the company.
