We are currently looking for a Supplies Coordinator to join our team at our St. Catharines, ON shop. This is a hands-on role focused primarily on maintaining, organizing, and controlling our supply of bolts, fasteners, and other production materials to ensure our shop teams and our field crew have the materials they need, when they need them.
The ideal candidate is organized, dependable, safety-conscious, and comfortable working in a busy shop environment.
Key Responsibilities
As a Supplies Coordinator, you will be responsible for keeping the shop's supplies organized, accurately tracked, and readily available.
Your primary focus will be the organization and control of bolts and fasteners, including:
- Organizing and maintaining bolt, nut, washer, and fastener inventory.
- Ensuring bolts and fasteners are properly sorted, labelled, and stored.
- Maintaining an organized and clean bolt storage area.
- Monitoring inventory levels and identifying materials that need to be replenished.
- Receiving and verifying incoming bolts, fasteners, and other shop supplies.
- Checking quantities and material specifications against packing slips or purchase orders.
- Ensuring materials are stored in designated locations and are easy to locate.
- Preparing and supplying bolts and other materials required by production teams.
- Communicating with shop supervisors and employees regarding material requirements.
- Keeping basic inventory records and reporting shortages or discrepancies.
- Supporting regular inventory counts and helping maintain accurate inventory levels.
- Identifying damaged, incorrect, or excess materials and bringing them to the attention of the appropriate supervisor.
- Maintaining a safe, organized, and efficient work area.
- Following all company safety policies, procedures, and housekeeping standards.
- Assisting with other material and supply coordination duties as required.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Previous experience in a warehouse, materials, inventory, manufacturing, construction, or industrial setting is an asset.
- Experience handling bolts, fasteners, hardware, or construction materials is an asset.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to identify and differentiate various sizes, types, and grades of bolts and fasteners.
- Basic computer skills and the ability to maintain simple inventory records.
- Ability to communicate effectively with production and supervisory teams.
- Reliable, punctual, and able to work independently.
- Comfortable working in a rapid-paced industrial/shop environment.
- Strong housekeeping and organizational habits.
- Ability to lift and move materials as required, including items weighing up to 50 pounds.
- Previous experience in structural steel or construction is an asset.
