POSITION Worksite: A.D. Rundle Middle School
Contract Type: Temporary, Full-Time
Assignment Area(s): Applied Design, Skills and Technologies – Technology Education
Salary Range: $63,347 to $116,190 (based on length of service and qualifications in accordance with the collective agreement)
Effective Date: September 1, 2026 until no later than March 14, 2027 (or return of teacher)

Required Abilities, Qualifications And Experience
- extensive academic training, professional preparation, and qualifications in teaching in all areas of this assignment.
- knowledge of, and demonstrated application of, the Ministry of Education's current philosophy, teaching practices, and evaluation/assessment/reporting procedures as applied to all areas of this assignment.
- knowledge of and demonstrated ability to implement teaching practices that align with the Skilled Standards for BC Educators.
- Understanding and commitment to current middle school philosophy:
- Teaming – demonstrated ability and experience working with one or two other teachers to support a core group of students.
- Advisory – dedicated instructional time with students to foster connectedness and positive relationships to support adolescent development.
- Exploratory – providing students the opportunity to sample high interest courses.
- Collaboration – ongoing inquiry-based teamwork.
- TTED - Technology Teacher Education Diploma required.
- experience in teaching Technology Education (Metal Work, Woodwork, Robotics)
- extensive training and experience in using industry standard shop equipment
- demonstrated understanding of the curriculum organizers as documented in the Curriculum Competencies for all areas of this assignment
- demonstrated ability to suitably employ a variety of instructional strategies to achieve the desired learning outcomes
- demonstrated ability to devise a variety of assessment processes that effectively allow students to demonstrate what they know
- demonstrated ability to organize and manage an effective and safe technology program
- demonstrated ability in using formative assessment strategies and the ability to develop appropriate instructional strategies for all assignment areas
- demonstrated ability in using a variety of technology within the classroom to enhance learning
- demonstrated ability to adapt or modify curriculum for students who are experiencing difficulties
- proven ability to differentiate instruction for a variety of developmental stages and ability levels
- demonstrated sensitivity, awareness and understanding of adolescent development and enthusiasm for working, and developing positive relationships, with adolescents
- familiarity with and supportive of a restorative approach to student discipline
- demonstrated ability to incorporate a wide range of effective classroom management strategies to resolve discipline problems and still maintain the dignity of young adolescents
- evidence of personal initiative and strong work ethic with a proven ability to work collaboratively as an effective team member
- excellent communication skills with parents, students, and other staff
