Hiring Range: $81,977 - $92,224 per annum plus comprehensive benefits

Hours of work: 35 hours per week The role:
As a Technical Analyst, you will support Peel Region’s road maintenance operations by providing expertise in asset management, budgeting, data analysis, and industry best practices. Reporting to the Supervisor of Road Maintenance, you will play a key role in researching and implementing innovative maintenance solutions, managing data-driven insights, and collaborating with internal and external stakeholders to enhance road infrastructure.
What you’ll do:
- Evaluate industry reports to identify advancements in maintenance management, preparing detailed analyses on findings.
- Spearhead new initiatives with support teams for asset management systems, ISO certification, and data visualization platforms like Power BI.
- Collaborate with supervisor on Roads Annual Operating Budget creation, ensuring accuracy through monitoring and analysis of ABB Budget System.
- Research emerging road maintenance technologies and recommend beneficial innovations to maintain Region's commitment to industry best practices.
- Serve as primary liaison between the Yard and all internal/external stakeholders, ensuring effective information flow and issue resolution.
- Monitor contract renewal deadlines and provide timely alerts to leadership.
- Partner with Forepersons on specialized projects requiring technical expertise.
- Conduct data analysis to support costing, administration, and comprehensive reporting of Road Maintenance activities.
- Analyze annual inspection data to develop prioritized repair recommendations and structured work plans.
- Coordinate with support teams on asset inventory management, including GPS mapping and field verification.
- Create compelling business cases to justify current operations and proposed initiatives.
- Track and report section performance metrics against divisional KPIs.
- Champion diversity, equity and inclusion through continuous learning, modeling inclusive behaviors, and actively addressing bias.
- Process invoice requests for various recovery sources, including internal/external accounts and MOU agreements.
- Build strategic partnerships with other municipalities to achieve program objectives and benchmark practices for continuous improvement.
What we require:
- Post-secondary education in Civil Technology program or related field.
- Three years’ relevant experience. A combination of education and experience may be considered.
- Experience working with asset management is preferred.
- Polished communication skills both through written material and verbally.
- Experienced with creating and monitoring operation budget.
- Excellent analytical skills to identify problems, determine and isolate cause and recommend corrective actions.
- Computer proficiency in all facets of MS Office.

Work Mode & Job Location: In this role, you'll enjoy the flexibility of a hybrid work arrangement. This means you'll have the ability to work off-site and on-site as needed, depending on operational needs at the 2 Copper Road, Brampton worksite. The frequency of on-site work may vary from week to week, depending on operational demands, which can evolve over time. It's important to note that your off-site work location must be within the province of Ontario. This ensures that we're compliant with all regulations and policies. Effective July 1, 2027, responsibility for Peel’s regional roads will transfer to the Cities of Brampton and Mississauga and the Town of Caledon. This change is part of the provincially led Peel Transition Implementation Act, 2024. Road operations and services will be delivered directly by each local municipality, with no interruption to residents. Peel Region will continue supporting a smooth transition and keeping the community informed.
