Role Description The Technical Lead is a full-time remote contract position (independent contractor, not employment) open to anyone living in Canada who speaks English. This role is responsible for the software and technical infrastructure supporting bitMachina's points of sale and related systems. We already have fully operational software, market validation for the service we want to expand, and a modernized application currently being rolled out.

The Technical

Lead will develop and maintain both the new and legacy applications, monitor system performance, manage deployments and updates, and troubleshoot software issues to ensure reliable, secure operation of all points of sale. The person in this role collaborates with internal stakeholders to plan and implement technical improvements, document processes, and support incident response and root-cause analysis.





The Technical

Lead also contributes to strategic technical planning, helping align system architecture and infrastructure decisions with business growth and operational needs.

Qualifications

- Strong background in software engineering, with experience designing, implementing, and maintaining production systems.
- Proficiency in the technical skillset listed above, with solid web application development experience.
- Experience with networking, system security, and secure integrations, particularly in financial technology or payments-related environments.
- Experience with incident management, troubleshooting complex technical issues, and documenting solutions and operational procedures.
- Familiarity with Bitcoin and blockchain concepts, or strong interest in learning and working within the cryptocurrency domain.
- Self-motivated and able to work independently, with clear communication toward technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Located in Canada and fluent in English.
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field.
