About GetGrants

GetGrants is a boutique government funding consultancy helping innovative Canadian companies access grants, SR&ED; tax credits, and other government funding.

We work with a carefully selected group of high-quality clients across AI, biotechnology, cleantech, fintech, software, computer vision, and other deep-tech industries.

We're a small team by design. We are not a high-volume consulting firm or an aggressive SR&ED; shop. We focus on long-term client relationships and exceptional work.

The Role

We're looking for an experienced Technical Writer to work across both Grants and SR&ED;.

You'll work directly with founders, scientists, engineers, and technical teams to understand their technology, R&D;, and business objectives — and turn that information into compelling, technically strong funding applications and documentation.

This is a quality-over-quantity role. We don't operate a production-line model. You'll have the time to understand the technology, ask good questions, and produce excellent work.

What You'll Do

- Prepare high-quality grant applications and SR&ED; technical documentation
- Interview clients and technical teams to understand their R&D; and technology
- Ask thoughtful questions and extract the information needed for strong applications
- Translate complex technical information into clear, compelling narratives
- Research technical, market, and industry information
- Manage client communication, timelines, follow-ups, and reporting requirements
- Stay current with government funding programs and requirements
- Collaborate with our small team on client strategy

What We're Looking For

Exceptional communication skills are essential.

We're looking for someone who is:

- An excellent written and verbal communicator
- Confident speaking with founders, CEOs, scientists, engineers, and technical teams
- A strong interviewer and listener who knows how to ask the right questions




- Able to understand and clearly explain complex technical concepts
- Highly responsive, organized, and proactive
- Comfortable working independently in a fully remote environment
- Strong technically, scientifically, or engineering-minded
- 5 years of experience in grants, SR&ED;, technical writing, scientific writing, or a related field
- Familiar with business plans, financial models, commercialization, and strategy

Experience with software development, AI, biotech, cleantech, engineering, or other deep-tech fields is an asset.
