THE ROLE
STRIVE is working with a well-established food manufacturing organization in Surrey, BC who is seeking an experienced Industrial Electrician / Power Engineer to join their maintenance team.

This hands-on role will focus on electrical troubleshooting, PLCs, VFDs, motor controls, and production equipment breakdowns while supporting preventative maintenance and routine plant inspections. The ideal candidate has strong industrial electrical experience in a manufacturing environment and is comfortable working independently as part of a team.

ADVANTAGES

Hourly range starting at $36 to $42/hr, depending on experience

Primarily afternoon shift, 2 PM–10 PM, with flexibility for 6 AM–2 PM

Monday–Friday or Tuesday–Saturday schedule

Optional overtime on Saturdays is available

RESPONSIBILITIES

Troubleshoot, repair, replace, and maintain medium- and low-voltage electrical systems





Troubleshoot and maintain industrial motors, VFDs, PLCs, and control systems

Troubleshoot electrical control circuits, relays, panels, and motor controls

Install and repair electrical wiring, receptacles, switch boxes, conduits, feeders, lighting, and other electrical components

Respond to emergency and unscheduled production equipment breakdowns to minimize downtime

Diagnose electrical issues and perform necessary adjustments and repairs

Complete motor replacements and electrical component repairs

Read equipment manuals, schematics, and documentation to troubleshoot equipment

Perform preventative and regular maintenance on production equipment

Complete routine inspections and rounds of HP steam boilers and ammonia refrigeration systems

Follow food safety and workplace safety requirements

Work independently while contributing to a collaborative maintenance team

Maintain a clean, secure, and organized work environment

Follow all company safety policies and procedures

REQUIREMENTS

3–5 years of Industrial Electrician experience required

Experience in a manufacturing/production environment

Strong troubleshooting experience with PLCs, VFDs, motors, and controls

Experience with Siemens and/or Allen-Bradley PLCs is an asset

Experience working with 220V and 600V electrical systems

Strong electrical troubleshooting and problem-solving skills

Ability to work independently and as part of a team

Food manufacturing experience is required

Red Seal Industrial Electrician or Class 4 Power Engineer is preferred

Boiler and ammonia refrigeration experience is an asset

Mechanical maintenance experience is an asset
