Assistant Director, Population Health
Reporting to the Director, Population Health and Chief Nursing Officer, the Assistant Director will assist in leading the Division in the development, implementation and evaluation of assigned public health programs. The incumbent will:
Lead the recruitment, selection and orientation of divisional staff; assist the Director in the management of Division staff including workforce development
Assist in ensuring continuous quality improvement by evaluating the effectiveness of divisional programs, activities, structures, and processes to achieve goals and objectives of the Division
Participate in determining priorities for Division including levels of service and allocation of resources
Assist in providing Division leadership in researching, developing and monitoring long range and annual program plans in accordance with legislated program standards.
Aid in the interpretation and monitoring of standards of public health practice in accordance with legislation and professional standards of practice
Lead committees to advance the goals and objectives of the division
Act as qualified advisor to various internal and external groups or agencies to support health promoting policy and program decisions
Perform all duties in the absence of the Director
The successful applicant will possess:
A Baccalaureate in Nursing and a Masters of Nursing or related area of study
Registration in good standing with the College of Nurses of Ontario (CNO)
Minimum of 5 years management experience in a public health or comparable setting
Established leadership, management, coaching and strategic thinking competencies
Current knowledge of public health and organization theories and practices including legislation, regulation and ethics
Proven experience with program planning, development and evaluation
Ability to manage teams and work effectively as a member of a multidisciplinary team including advanced skills in facilitation, team building and conflict management
Developed analytical and problem-solving skills, strong communication and time management skills
Competency in human resource management, risk management and financial management
Demonstrated presentation and report writing skills
Consistent modeling of integrity, transparency, and inclusive practices
Management & Exempt Salary Grade 9
Salary: $146,206 to $182,757 per annum
