Join the Corner Brook Community Health Centre as an Addictions Counsellor I. This temporary full-time role focuses on supporting clients with mental health and addictions challenges within the FACT Team.
This position is vital to the Flexible Assertive Community Treatment Team in Corner Brook. As an Addictions Counsellor, you will conduct client assessments, develop recovery plans, and advocate for clients. You will also manage risk factors and link clients to essential treatment services while working closely with local service providers.
Key Responsibilities:
• Conduct comprehensive client assessments in the community
• Develop personalized recovery plans and goals
• Educate clients on managing substance use risks
• Collaborate with community agencies for effective services
• Provide after-hours support alongside the FACT team
Requirements:
• Master’s Degree in Social Work preferred
• Bachelor’s degree in Social Work or Clinical Psychology required
• Proven experience in addiction and mental health counseling
• Valid driver’s license and personal vehicle needed
• Solid communication and crisis intervention skills
