As a key member of the Post Trade Finance Business Partnering (FBP) team, you will support TMX's Canadian Depository for Securities (CDS) business unit, legal entities, and all Post Trade Finance Regulatory deliverables including supporting Post Trade risk deliverables. This is an opportunity to act as a financial coach and strategic advisor, simplifying complex FP&A; analysis for senior leaders and empowering them to make sound, data-driven decisions. Your primary focus will be providing end-to-end financial oversight for CDS-encompassing revenues, operating expenses, and its project portfolio-while leading regulatory finance submissions and supporting risk deliverables across Post Trade.
This role is hybrid (2 to 3 days/week in the office) - based in Toronto, ON.
Key Accountabilities Finance Business Partnering for CDS & Strategic Initiatives
End-to-End BU Support : Provide comprehensive finance support, guidance, and strategic recommendations to the CDS leadership team, covering revenues, operating expenses, and capital projects.
Financial Management & Coaching : Advise CDS business unit leaders on financial management and the financial impact of operational and strategic decisions.
Project Portfolio & Business Cases : Lead the financial aspects of CDS strategic initiatives, collaborate with stakeholders to build robust business cases (outlining benefits, costs, and risks), and manage individual project budgets and forecasts to ensure deliverables are met on budget.
Performance Insights : Deliver meaningful insights into financial performance, evaluating high-level variances against budget, forecast, and prior years to identify root causes
Target Achievement : Support financial discipline across CDS, identifying potential risks and opportunities and advising on actionable plans to address gaps.
Planning, Forecasting and Reporting Deliverable Management: Manage the budgeting and forecasting deliverables for the CDS business unit, legal entity, and Risk & Regulatory functions.
Strategic Modeling: Perform detailed financial modeling for the strategic planning process, risk sensitivity, and product analysis across Post Trade.
Predictive Analytics : Collaborate with stakeholders and colleagues to infuse predictive analytics into increased forecasting accuracy and profitability.
Presentation Materials:
Lead the preparation of business plan presentation materials for the CDS business unit leadership team, corporate FP&A;, and the Post Trade Board.
Risk and Regulatory Financial Governance Regulatory Submissions : Lead fee change reviews for the CDS business and manage the documentation and modeling processes required for regulatory submissions.
Risk Modeling : Perform advanced financial modeling for strategic planning, risk sensitivity, and product analysis across Post Trade.
Stakeholder Reviews : Drive routine financial review meetings with CDS senior leaders to facilitate proactive decision-making.
Other Financial Integrity : Work with the controllership team, corporate function support, internal and external auditors on quarterly reviews and annual audits to ensure transaction treatments are accurate and complete.
Internal Controls : Support the maintenance of a reliable system of internal controls over financial reporting to adequately safeguard company assets and ensure compliance with CEO/CFO certification requirements.
Ad-Hoc Analysis : Perform ad-hoc analysis as required for the overall Post Trade FBP team.
Must Have(s): University graduate; a CPA designation is preferred.
5-8 years of progressive FP&A;, operational finance, corporate finance, or business decision support experience.
Strong technical skills in Excel (pivot tables, model building), ERP systems, and the Google Suite of products.
Advanced Technology Literacy: Ability to leverage digital technologies to drive better outcomes and understanding of emerging technologies to communicate and drive tool requirements with IT.
Experience with Workday is considered an asset.
