Position Overview
The Manager, Corporate Development, plays a key role in supporting Coeur Mining’s growth strategy in identifying and evaluating potential merger and acquisition opportunities, investments, divestments and other strategic initiatives across the mining sector.
Reporting to the Director, Corporate Development and working closely with the SVP, Corporate Development, and senior leadership, the Manager will coordinate cross-functional due diligence activities and develop insights that support strategic decision-making and investment recommendations. This position combines financial analysis, technical collaboration, and market intelligence to help identify opportunities that align with the Company’s long-term growth objectives.
Key Responsibilities
Support the identification and evaluation of acquisitions, divestitures, and other opportunities that align with Coeur’s strategy
Monitor and advise leadership on industry trends, M&A; activity, as well as peer and target activities
Conduct detailed financial modeling and valuation of mining companies and assets, and support analysis of potential acquisition opportunities
Develop and maintain relationships with external stakeholders including investment banks, management teams, consultants, and legal advisors
Maintain a comprehensive database of producing, development and early-stage companies and assets; liase with internal cross-functional teams to conduct desktop reviews of opportunities
Manage due diligence processes, and collaborate with the technical, legal, and financial teams on conducting detailed reviews
Manage and coordinate external advisor and consultant support during due diligence processes
Prepare presentations for senior management and Board of Directors
Manage and maintain virtual data rooms and information requests
Support integration planning and execution
Support capital allocation decisions and investment recommendations
Attend and participate in industry conferences and events, as required
Collaborate and contribute to Investor Relations, as required
Qualifications, Skills, Requirements
University degree in Finance, Mining Engineering, Geology, or a related discipline.
CFA, CPA/CA, or P.Eng designation is considered an asset
3-5+ years of experience in investment banking, equity research, corporate development, consulting or mining-finance related roles
Strong financial modeling, valuation,
and analytical skills
Solid knowledge of the mining industry including an understanding of mining capital markets and M&A; execution, with preference for previous experience in the precious metals sector
Robust understanding of the technical, operational, and financial metrics required for asset valuation
Exceptional written and verbal communication skills with experience preparing presentations for senior executives
Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite and use of third-party databases such as Capital IQ, Bloomberg
Meticulous attention to detail while being able to adapt to multiple and shifting priorities
Ability and willingness to travel (approx. 10 – 15%) for meetings, site visits, conferences, etc., as required
The salary range offered for this role is $115k - $150k range. The salary range is a good-faith estimate. The salary offer to the successful candidate will be based on job-related education, training, and/or experience. The salary offer will not be based on a candidate’s salary history at other jobs, and by law, Coeur Mining will not seek information about salary history, and candidates should not share such information with Coeur Mining. Coeur Mining provides a comprehensive benefits package including retirement benefits, health benefits, paid time off, parental and caregiver leave, life & accident insurance, and other voluntary and well-being benefits.
