This role is part of the Markets Data Risk Execution team, focusing on improving and enhancing risk management controls and processes for Markets data.

The team supports data quality issue management, governance, and analytics across all aspects of data risk for both First- and Second-Line functions.

The team works closely with Global Markets Trading Businesses, In-Business Risk (IBR), Market Risk, Finance and other 2LoD in setting standards and procedures, leading governance, building and managing controls across processes and activities within Markets processes, Standardized Approach for calculating Counterparty Credit Risk under Basel regulations (SA-CCR) and Fundamental Review of the Trading Book (FRTB) Standardized Approach (SA) and Credit Valuation Adjustment (CVA).

Key Responsibilities

Data Quality Management: Manage data quality (DQ) issue management processes and support DQ governance in various forums

Issue Triage & Guidance: Engage in DQ issue triage, prioritize business needs, and provide proactive guidance to partners

Control Implementation: Implement processes for effective internal data quality controls, monitor DQ reports, metrics, and drive continuous improvement to reduce inherent risks

Reporting & Remediation: Implement data quality reporting by defining and implementing business, data, and system-related control and issue remediation frameworks.

Stakeholder Collaboration: Work closely with business partners on findings, make recommendations, and coordinate with stakeholders to drive change and issue resolution

Policy Adherence: Understand and ensure compliance with relevant policies (e.g., Citi Data Governance Policy), identify new requirements applicable to markets, and remediate gaps

Risk Assessment: Appropriately assess risk in business decisions, ensure compliance, and elevate/manage control issues transparently

SME & Autonomy: Act as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) to senior stakeholders and operate with a limited level of direct supervision

Essential Knowledge & Experience

Markets Data Expertise: 10+ years in Data Analytics within Banking (Markets), with a robust grasp of financial products, operational intricacies, and various Markets asset classes (Fixed Income, Equities, Derivatives, FX), including their data structures and valuation methodologies

Data Understanding:



Comprehensive understanding of data's role in business decision-making, including data modeling and manipulation patterns

Data Quality Themes: Knowledge of typical data quality issues at process touchpoints in complex technology environments

Technical Skills:

Strong data mining skills with advanced SQL

Advanced Tableau for data analysis and visualization

Advanced Python/Jupyter for data analysis

Proficiency with Excel and PowerPoint

Issue & Governance Tooling: Ability to manage tasks in issue management tools (e.g., JIRA, DCRM)

Data Governance: Experience in data governance or data quality issue management (IM) using glossary, lineage, and DQ tools

Governance Framework: Expert in creating and executing robust governance frameworks to improve data quality and meet regulatory commitments

Project Management: Knowledge of structured project management techniques in a front office environment

Regulatory & Control: Industry experience in data, data management, and/or regulatory initiatives; knowledge of data methodologies, controls, thresholds, and data quality rules

Process Flows: Demonstrable experience in front-to-back data process flows, risk and control, and support functions within a large bank/dealer

Legislative Analysis: Experience in analyzing legislative, regulatory, and legal/compliance texts.

Qualifications

Executive Communication: Excellent oral and written communication skills, expertly crafting compelling narratives through data storytelling and monitoring controls, with the judgment and authority to deliver insightful commentary and recommendations to senior stakeholders

Strategic Thinking: Ability to understand the bigger picture while focusing on critical details, including process purpose, products, data capture, and reports

Analytical Skills: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and ability to understand process steps for remediation





Tool Proficiency: Excellent proficiency in Tableau, PowerPoint, Word, Outlook, and Teams, and daily use of AI

Influence & Project Management: Effective organizational influencing skills and strong project management capabilities to drive initiatives to completion

Collaboration: Ability to coordinate with other data management roles (Process Owners, Data Stewards)

Strategy & Improvement: Demonstrated ability to develop and implement strategy and process improvement initiatives

Education:

Bachelor’s Degree/University degree or equivalent experience
