The Angular Developer Senior Manager is responsible for accomplishing results through the management of a team or department in an effort to establish and implement new or revised application systems and programs in coordination with the Technology team. The overall objective of this role is to drive applications systems analysis and programming activities. Responsibilities:

Manage one or more Applications Development teams in an effort to accomplish established goals as well as conduct personnel duties for team (e.g. performance evaluations, hiring and disciplinary actions)

Utilize in-depth knowledge and skills across multiple Applications Development areas to provide technical oversight across systems and applications

Review and analyze proposed technical solutions for projects

Contribute to formulation of strategies for applications development and other functional areas

Develop comprehensive knowledge of how areas of business integrate to accomplish business goals

Provide evaluative judgment based on analysis of factual data in complicated and unique situations

Impact the Applications Development area through monitoring delivery of end results, participate in budget management, and handling day-to-day staff management issues, including resource management and allocation of work within the team/project

Ensure essential procedures are followed and contribute to defining standards negotiating with external parties when necessary

Appropriately assess risk when business decisions are made, demonstrating particular consideration for the firm's reputation and safeguarding Citigroup, its clients and assets, by driving compliance with applicable laws, rules and regulations, adhering to Policy, applying sound ethical judgment regarding personal behavior, conduct and business practices, and escalating, managing and reporting control issues with transparency, as well as effectively supervise the activity of others and create accountability with those who fail to maintain these standards.

Recommended Qualifications:

6-10 years of relevant experience in the Financial Service industry

Experience as Applications Development Manager

Experience as senior level in an Applications Development role

Stakeholder and people management experience

Demonstrated leadership skills

Proven project management skills

Basic knowledge of industry practices and standards

Consistently demonstrates clear and concise written and verbal communication

Education:

Bachelor’s degree/University degree or equivalent experience

Role Overview
This position is for a hands-on Angular Developer Senior Manager focused on the design and delivery of enterprise-grade UI client journeys. The ideal candidate is a technically deep front-end engineer with expert-level Angular expertise, strong architectural instincts, and a proven track record of delivering scalable, production-ready UI solutions in complex financial technology environments.



Beyond individual delivery, this role is expected to serve as a technical anchor within the team — driving front-end standards, contributing to architectural decisions, and elevating overall engineering quality.

Key Responsibilities

Design, develop, and maintain enterprise-grade Angular applications supporting complex Financial Service industry UI client journeys

Architect and implement Micro Front End (MFE) solutions, enabling modular and independently deployable UI units within a broader platform

Build and maintain reusable, modular UI component libraries using component-driven development principles

Implement and optimize state management solutions using NgRx, RxJS, Akita, or Angular Signals

Drive Angular version migrations across major framework releases with minimal production disruption

Write and maintain comprehensive unit and integration tests using Jasmine and Karma

Apply front-end performance optimization techniques including lazy loading, change detection strategies, and bundle optimization

Conduct front-end debugging and performance profiling to identify and resolve bottlenecks

Collaborate with UX/UI designers to translate Figma design specifications into accurate, accessible Angular components

Partner with backend engineers to define API contracts and ensure seamless front-end integration

Contribute to technical design reviews with a focus on security, performance, and code reusability

Serve as a technical reference point for front-end architecture and Angular best practices within the team

Leverage AI-assisted development tools (e.g., GitHub Copilot) to accelerate delivery and maintain code quality standards

Adhere to Citi's technology risk, security, and compliance standards across all development practices, ensuring alignment with applicable policies and controls

Required Qualifications

7+ years of hands-on, production-level experience with the Angular framework (v8 and above), across multiple major versions

Expert proficiency in TypeScript and JavaScript , including advanced language features, type safety, and secure coding practices

Proven experience architecting and delivering Micro Front End (MFE) solutions in enterprise-scale environments

Strong command of reactive programming with RxJS and state management using NgRx, Akita, or Angular Signals

Deep expertise in component-driven development — building modular, reusable, and accessible UI components at scale

Extensive hands-on experience with Angular testing frameworks (Jasmine, Karma), including test strategy design





Proficient in front-end performance optimization — lazy loading, OnPush change detection, tree shaking, and bundle strategies

Strong understanding of responsive design , accessibility standards (WCAG), and cross-browser compatibility

Familiarity with backend services and microservices architectures (e.g., Java/Spring Boot, .NET) to support effective front-end/back-end collaboration

Working knowledge of NoSQL and relational databases (e.g., MongoDB, Oracle DB) to inform data-aware UI design

Architectural mindset — writes code that is consistently secure, performant, and reusable

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a proactive, ownership-driven approach

Excellent written and verbal communication skills , able to articulate technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders

Preferred Qualifications

Experience with CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices (e.g., OpenShift, Jenkins, GitLab CI)

Proficiency with Figma or equivalent UX/UI design tools for design-to-code workflows

Familiarity with Trade finance domain concepts , including Trade UI workflows and client journey platforms

Proficiency in AI-assisted development tools (e.g., GitHub Copilot) to enhance productivity and code quality

Experience with Agile/Scrum methodologies and iterative, sprint-based delivery models

Contributions to open-source Angular projects or UI component frameworks
