It reminds each one of us that what we do matters.JOB PURPOSE:Working under the supervision of the physician and reporting to the Clinic Manager, the Clinical Aide provides excellent patient care, customer service, and administrative support to help ensure efficient clinic operationsPRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES:Medical DutiesPerforms a variety of care interventions and medical procedures as permitted and supervised by the physician, within the designated scope of practice.Setting up and assisting with minor surgical proceduresAssisting with cast applications and removalsAdministration of injections and vaccinationsSetting up room and preparing patient for complete medical examinationsUse of a glucometerPerform urinalysis using dipsticksPerform pregnancy test using OTC mediaSuturing of minor woundsApplying dressings, tensors, splints, and slingsRemoval of sutures and staplesEar flushingStarting oxygen therapy under physician ordersTaking & recording vital signs, heights, weights,



visual acuitiesAssembling & maintaining required sterile equipment & suppliesAssisting with pelvic examinations and IUD proceduresMaintaining orderly storage and disposal of clinic suppliesFollows standards of cleanliness and safetyCustomer Service and Administrative DutiesGreeting and registering and rooming patientsAccurately charting any medical procedures or interventions performed, in the patient chartScheduling and notifying patients of appointmentsScanning patient documents as requiredOpening mail, receiving faxes and distributing appropriatelyCompleting daily, weekly and monthly chore listsUnderstands physician profiles and executes on requests in order to properly support physiciansActively participates in company initiativesOther duties as assignedKNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:A medical degree from a school of medicine listed in the World Directory of Medical SchoolsSuccessful completion of the MCCEE (Medical Council of Canada Evaluating Examination) or MCCQE (Medical Council of Canada Qualifying Examination)Experience with EMR (Med Access, CHR, Accuro) softwareExcellent communication, listening and problem-solving skillsExcellent clinical and customer service and organizational skillsAbility to handle confidential information in compliance with the relevant provincial privacy legislationComputer skills including Excel and word are an assetCPR – Health Care Provider BLS is required.We believe our employees should reflect the communities we serve and welcome applications from candidates of all backgrounds.
