Responsibilities

- Work closely with Indigenous community and enterprise clients to assess their accounting systems and lead tailored capacity‑building initiatives
- Evaluate overall client accounting practices and create a strategic plan for growth, capacity development, and financial literacy
- Provide strategic recommendations to client leadership and implement best practices
- Advise on complex matters such as external financing, system implementations, and chart of accounts setup
- Deliver hands‑on training in accounting functions including assisting the client with audit preparation
- Review/prepare finance policies and process maps, prepare recommended amendments as required
- Provide training and oversight into general matters such as payroll, GST/PST, and T4 filing




- Facilitate quarterly financial reporting and project updates to Management and Leadership
- Maintain flexibility to travel, as necessary

Skills and Experience

- A degree or diploma in Business Administration or Accounting
- CPA, CAFM, or equivalent designation
- Minimum 7 years of relevant experience
- Solid knowledge of accounting principles and organizational finance
- Excellent communication and relationship‑building skills
- Experience working with Indigenous communities is a strong asset
