Travel to local and remote locations to monitor and test cathodic protection systems

Develop plans and maintain, install, or arrange installation of cathodic protection systems

Inspect deep anode bed installations for contract compliance

Coordinate materials, contractors, and construction crews

Analyze cathodic protection measurements against CSA Z662, OCC1, industry practices, NACE, and FortisBC standards

Troubleshoot and repair cathodic protection issues, including underground shorts, anode failures, and rectifier failures

Install, maintain, troubleshoot, and replace Remote Monitoring Units

Investigate AC/DC electrical interference and assess impacts on cathodic protection and safety

Prepare reports, spreadsheets, graphs, and analyses using software applications

Respond to crew, municipality, and contractor requests with technical information and guidance

Maintain corrosion, construction record, mapping, and facilities management data systems

Prepare repair procedures and monitor completion within established timeframes

Respond to customer queries and explain work requirements

Liaise with pipeline companies and municipal personnel regarding interference problems

Follow safety rules and participate in workplace safety initiatives

Requirements

Recognized as a Certified Cathodic Protection Tester (CP1) by N.A.C.E.

Successful completion of Coating Inspection Program Level 1

Four (4) years of directly related experience

Working knowledge of cathodic protection system maintenance and operation

Knowledge of corrosion theories and their application to buried pipelines

Working knowledge of DC/AC electrical interference





Ability to operate Microsoft Office applications, including Excel, Word, and Outlook

Ability to work independently with minimum supervision and within a team environment

Ability to analyze information and make sound judgments

Ability to operate and perform basic calibration on intricate instrumentation

Mechanical aptitude

Valid BC driver's licence and safe driving record
