Job Summary
As the Lift Maintenance Manager at Sasquatch Mountain Resort, you’ll play a key role in overseeing the safe, reliable, and efficient operation of all lift systems. Reporting to the Outside Operations Manager, you’ll lead the Lift Maintenance team in day-to-day mechanical operations, preventative maintenance, and repairs of our chairlifts and passenger conveyors. This is a hands‑on leadership role requiring strong mechanical expertise, organization, and a proactive approach to identifying and resolving issues before they impact operations. You’ll ensure compliance with all regulatory standards while maintaining accurate service records and supporting a strong culture of safety across the team.

Beyond winter operations, this role will also support off‑season maintenance, capital projects, and the development of summer operations—contributing to Sasquatch Mountain Resort’s growth as a year‑round destination.

Based on experience

Schedule: Full-time, year-round: including weekends and holidays

Skill Level: Advanced (Supervisor/ Technical)

Reports To: Outside Operations Manager

Job Responsibilities

Carry out daily mechanics of the lift maintenance program under supervision.

Troubleshoot and diagnose mechanical and hydraulic issues on lifts and associated equipment

Identify and resolve issues with machines, equipment, and operational processes

Follow manufacturer manuals, specifications, and installation guidelines for all work performed

Participate in preventative and required maintenance of all lifts and lift maintenance equipment

Maintain accurate records of work completed and report on all lift maintenance activities

Support training of Lift Operators to ensure safe operation and completion of routine checks

Coordinate with third‑party contractors for inspections, testing, repairs, and maintenance as required

Plan, assign, and oversee daily work tasks with minimal supervision





Collaborate with departments including Facilities, Ski Patrol, and Operations

Work with the Outside Operations Manager on maintenance planning, budgeting, and seasonal preparation

Assist other departments with general maintenance and operational support as needed

Ensure compliance with provincial and national standards, including CSA Z98 and manufacturer specifications

Maintain flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as required

Other duties as assigned

Job Requirements

Previous experience in lift maintenance or mechanical operations required

Strong knowledge of CSA Z98 Code and lift maintenance standards

Completion of Selkirk College Lift 150 Passenger Ropeways Trainer Certificate required

Completion of Selkirk College lift mechanic courses (Lift 151, 152, 153) is an asset.

Strong mechanical aptitude with experience in hydraulics, electrical systems, and troubleshooting

Experience with fixed grip chairlifts and passenger conveyors considered an asset

Welding, machining, or fabrication experience considered an asset

Valid Class 5 driver’s license required with a clean driver’s abstract

Experience operating snowmobiles and/or heavy equipment considered an asset

Ability to work at heights and in physically demanding environments

Ability to lift up to 75 lbs and work outdoors in all weather conditions

Intermediate to advanced skiing/snowboarding ability.

Strong communication, organizational, and time management skills.

Must be adaptable, reliable, and able to work in a fast‑paced workplace

Must be able to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays
