Your Prospect:
Providing safe, ethical nurse care, the Registered Nurse integrates knowledge, skills and ability to ensure ongoing assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation of patient care for patients aged 0 - 18 years of age recovering from brain Injury, spinal cord Injury and post-operative, complex orthopedic procedures. Working in the primary and team nursing model, the Registered Nurse is a member of the interdisciplinary care team who facilitates collaborative planning with the patient and family central to the decision‑making process, following the principles of Family Centred Care. Responsibilities include participation in activities and initiatives aimed at promoting, maintaining and improving quality care and safety for patients, families and caregivers.The Registered Nurse is reliable and maintains a high degree of professionalism in this role.
Description:
As a Registered Nurse (RN), you will provide a wide variety of nursing services to patients, families, communities and populations, while taking necessary steps to ensure their safety and well‑being. In your role, you will utilize nursing processes, through critical thinking, problem solving and decision making, as well as teach, counsel and advocate on behalf of patients and their families. You will play a leadership role in supporting an integrated and holistic approach to patient care, health promotion and maintenance. You will provide safe, quality patient and family centered care while reflecting the shared vision and values. PLEASE NOTE: Provisional Permit holders will be paid $40.76 to $55.79 per hour. Upon obtaining a full practice permit, the rate of pay will be adjusted to the applicable Registered Nurse rate in accordance with UNA Article 25.02(b)(i) or (ii), as applicable.

Required Qualifications:
Completion of an accredited nursing education program.
Active or eligible for registration and practice permit with the College of Registered Nurses of Alberta (CRNA).
Current Basic Cardiac Life Support - Health Care Provider (BCLS-HCP) certification.
Additional Required Qualifications:
Minimum 3 years RN acute care/rehab experience, required.
Previous experience with electronic medical records: Connect Care, required.
Experience in Pediatrics and strong health assessment skills combined with recent orthopedic nursing experience is preferred.
Knowledge and experience in child development required.
Working knowledge of contributing factors and concerns/priorities of children with chronic conditions and developmental disabilities.
Must demonstrate critical thinking and problem solving skills when working with complex families and patients.
Demonstrate ability to work in family centered care environment is required.
Working knowledge of contributing factors and concerns/priorities of children with chronic conditions and developmental disabilities.
The ideal candidate will be a self-directed, highly motivated RN who possesses strong communication and leadership skills: able to work with multiple demands.
Preferred Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree of Nursing preferred.
Knowledge and experience in child development and community resources is an asset.
Preference will be given to RN’s who have demonstrated leadership ability and training.
