As a member of the powerhouse, you will be responsible for the secure operation and servicing of all equipment relating to powerhouse and utilities operations, which includes:
Operating high pressure boilers and auxiliary equipment according to the Pressure Vessels Act and Operating Engineers Regulations
Operating the water filtration system and treatment plant
Controlling the operation of the compressed air system and air dryers
Operating the stand‑by diesel generator
Guiding activities of maintenance personnel while working on powerhouse equipment
Maintaining documentation according to the Operating Engineers Regulations
Education and Qualifications Ontario Second Class Operating Engineer Certificate
Five to eight years of previous job experience in an industrial setting
Detailed knowledge of the Pressure Vessels Act and Operating Engineer Regulations is mandatory
Good problem solving, communication and critical thinking skills,
and the ability to work in accordance with established procedures and work practices is essential
Assets Exposure to predictive maintenance techniques and technologies
Experience with computerized maintenance management systems
Site hours of operation require this position to work a 24-hour operation work schedule of 12 hour rotating day and night shifts.
