Provide clients with investigating engineering services related to events, systems, devices, and/or failures
Provide expert opinions
Survey losses and loss scenes at residential and commercial buildings
Conduct investigations to determine and document the scope of damage
Investigate and assess damages due to failures and determine the origin of failure for insurers and litigation support
Analyze and document failure analysis and causation of failures
Collaborate with other investigators to produce detailed reports outlining the cause and origin of losses and damages
Serve as an expert witness in court and/or depositions
Document and maintain billable hours on a time and expense basis for failure analysis and forensic engineering projects
Collaborate with EFI Global’s national team of forensic experts on projects
Follow industry acceptable methodology for performance of services
Develop and maintain positive relationships with clients, colleagues, subcontractors, and prospects
Perform local marketing and sales activities
Comply with company safety programs, standards, HR policies, programs, and initiatives
Properly utilize and maintain personal protective equipment and company equipment
Meet or exceed productivity levels and submit daily time entries
Perform other duties as assigned
Requirements Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering from a recognized university
Registered Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) in the province of the posted position
Five (5)+ years of engineering experience or equivalent combination of experience and education
Some introduction to the forensic sciences discipline
Excellent oral and written communication
PC literacy,



including Microsoft Office products
Analytical and interpretive skills
Strong organizational skills
Excellent interpersonal skills
Ability to work independently or in a team environment
Ability to meet or exceed Performance Competencies
Ability to travel at least 30–40% of the time, locally or across provincial boundaries
Ability to work outdoors and be exposed to all elements of weather
Ability to walk and climb as required
Ability to occasionally lift up to 50 pounds
Ability to work 40–60% in a field environment
Core Competencies Demonstrates expertise in forensic engineering, including failure analysis and damage assessment, while effectively communicating findings and collaborating with clients and colleagues. Holds a Professional Engineer designation and possesses strong analytical, organizational, and interpersonal skills essential for success in investigative roles.
