Join our dynamic team at JAG Industries as a TEKLA steel Detailer and play a vital role in transforming structural steel designs into precise, comprehensive shop drawings. As a Tekla Steel Detailer you will develop precise 3D models of structural and miscellaneous steel using Tekla Structures, and produce fabrication drawings, erection plans, BOMs, and CNC data. You will need to interpret engineering/architectural documents, resolve design conflicts, and coordinate with engineers, fabricators, and project managers to ensure the steel is built exactly as intended.

Responsibilities

- Create detailed 3D Tekla models for structural and miscellaneous steel based on engineering and architectural drawings.
- Produce fabrication drawings: assemblies, single‑parts, gather sheets, and BOMs.
- Generate erection drawings with sections, elevations, and connection details for field crews.




- Interpret and review contract documents to ensure compliance with design intent.
- Issue RFIs to resolve discrepancies, missing information, or conflicting details.
- Track and incorporate design changes from addendums, RFI responses, and change orders.
- Produce CNC/NC1, DXF, KSS files for automated fabrication equipment.
- Coordinate with engineers, architects, project managers, and fabricators to maintain project accuracy and flow.
- Perform self‑checks to ensure accuracy, completeness, and adherence to standards.
- Prepare and deliver drawing packages for approval, fabrication, and erection
- Manage outsourced detailers & Work with Clients - communicate efficiently and promptly

Qualifications

- Minimum 5 years of experience working as Tekla Structures Steel Detailer.
- Strong understanding of schematics, construction drawings, and technical drafting standards.
- Familiarity with construction processes and steel fabrication techniques.
- Ability to interpret engineering plans and translate them into detailed shop drawings accurately.
- Excellent communication skills to collaborate effectively with clients and team members.
