Temporary Indigenous Counsellor SALARY RANGE: $42.08 - $48.79 per hour, plus 4% vacation pay As soon as possible The Indigenous Counselor provides school-based prevention and intervention services to address the social and emotional barriers to learning for First Nations, Métis, and Inuit students in elementary, secondary and alternative school settings. Successful completion of a two-year Degree or Diploma in Child and Youth Counselling, Social Service Work or Child Studies and a minimum of one (1) year experience in a school Board or community agency providing counselling services to children and families.

Experience working with Indigenous students, families, and communities is required.



Familiarity with local First Nations, Métis, and Inuit cultures, perspectives, values, and ways of knowing is required.

Nations, Métis, or Inuit ancestry and/or significant lived experience within Indigenous communities is considered an asset. In accordance with regulations, this will be an ongoing expectation of employment for TVDSB employees every five years of employment. The Alliance of Credential Evaluation Services of Canada is a membership organization that offers fair and credible academic credential assessment services in Canada.
