WhatYou’ll Do
ArchaeologicalFieldwork
Conduct archaeological field investigations,including test pit surveys and pedestrian surveys under the direction of licensedarchaeologists
Participate in Stage 2, 3, and 4 archaeological assessments, excavations, andsite evaluations
Assist with artifact recovery, collection, cataloguing, and documentation
Complete accurate field notes, mapping, photography, and site records
Support field teams in meeting project objectives and regulatory requirements
Health, Safety& Compliance
Follow all health, safety, environmental,and project-specific procedures
Maintain equipment and project resources used in field activities
Identify and report field-related concerns and site issues to supervisors
Ensure work is completed in accordance with professional and regulatory standards
Team & StakeholderSupport
Represent SNG and AECOM professionallywhile interacting with clients, stakeholders, regulatory agencies, and the public
Work collaboratively with archaeology team members, supervisors, and project managers
Assist with other field and project-related duties as required
WhatYou Bring
Current enrollment in or completionof post-secondary education in Archaeology, Anthropology, Cultural Resource Management,or a related field preferred
Equivalent education and experience may be considered
Experience performing physically demanding outdoor work is required
Previous archaeological field experience is considered an asset
Knowledge of archaeological field methods and procedures
Strong organizational, documentation, and record-keeping skills
Basic computer proficiency
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Strong work ethic, reliability, and attention to detail
Professional communication and interpersonal skills
Adaptability and willingness to learn in dynamic field environments
Additional Requirements
Ability to travel throughout Ontario
Ability to work out of town, including overnight stays
Valid Ontario Class G Driver's Licence in good standing is preferred
Must be legally entitled to work in Canada
Ability to perform physically demanding fieldwork, including walking, digging,lifting, bending, and carrying equipment
Availability to start as soon as possible
Working Conditions
This position is primarilyfield-based and requires working outdoors in varying weather conditions, includingheat, rain, rough terrain, dense vegetation, and insect exposure. Frequent travelthroughout Ontario is required, and field assignments may include remote locationsand overnight accommodations.
