Schedule: Monday to Friday, with overtime available based on shop demand
Compensation: $35.00 to $40.00 per hour, based on experience
Experience: 3+ years of fabrication welding in a shop environment
Certification: Journeyman Welder certificate required. Red Seal and CWB tickets preferred.
Residency: Must currently live in Red Deer or the immediate area

The Role GrizzlyTrek is seeking one Journeyman Fabrication Welder to join our valued client's team in Red Deer, Alberta. This is a full-time permanent position in a shop environment, working Monday to Friday with overtime available. Pay is $35.00 to $40.00 per hour depending on experience and tickets.
You will be building and repairing structural and plate assemblies from drawings, working alongside a small crew of fitters and welders. This is steady indoor shop work with no travel and no rotation, so you are home every night.
Candidates must currently live in Red Deer or the immediate area.
What You'll Do Lay out, fit, and weld structural steel and plate assemblies from shop drawings and blueprints
Weld using FCAW, GMAW (MIG), and SMAW (stick) processes on carbon steel
Read and interpret weld symbols, tolerances, and fabrication specifications
Operate shop equipment including grinders, plasma and oxy-fuel cutting,
and overhead cranes
Inspect your own work for fit, weld quality, and dimensional accuracy before it moves down the line
Complete pre-shift equipment checks, hazard assessments, and safety documentation
Keep the work area, tooling, and bays clean, organized, and production ready
What You Bring Journeyman Welder certificate (Red Seal preferred)
3+ years of fabrication welding experience in a shop setting
Ability to read and work from shop drawings and blueprints without supervision
Proficiency with FCAW, GMAW, and SMAW processes on carbon steel
Current residence in Red Deer or the immediate area, with reliable transportation to the shop
Able to pass a pre-employment alcohol and drug test and meet site safety requirements
Preferred Qualifications CWB certification
B-Pressure ticket
TIG (GTAW) experience on stainless steel or aluminum
Overhead crane and rigging tickets
Work Environment Indoor fabrication shop, no camp work and no travel rotation
Home every night, Monday to Friday schedule
Standing, lifting, and working in various positions throughout the shift
PPE required at all times, including welding gear, safety boots, and eye protection
