We are recruiting a Class 1 -Heavy Haul Driver in Edmonton to transport a wide range of heavy equipment using various trailer combinations. The ideal candidate will be highly safety-conscious, mechanically inclined, and capable of troubleshooting on the road.
Responsibilities
Safely operate Class 1 heavy haul trucks and various trailer configurations to transport heavy, oversized, and specialized equipment.
Load, unload, secure, and transport equipment in accordance with applicable regulations and company procedures.
Complete proper load securement, including tie-downs, chains, binders, blocking, and other required securement methods.
Conduct thorough pre-trip, post-trip, and ongoing inspections of trucks, trailers, and equipment.
Identify and report mechanical issues, equipment defects, and maintenance requirements.
Perform basic roadside troubleshooting and assist with resolving mechanical issues when required.
Complete daily equipment inspection reports, logbooks, and other required documentation accurately.
Ensure loads are properly distributed and remain secure throughout transportation.
Follow all applicable provincial and federal transportation regulations, including hours-of-service, weight restrictions, permits, and oversized-load requirements.
Coordinate with supervisors, equipment operators, project teams, and other drivers to ensure safe and effective transportation.
Maintain a clean, organized, and professional truck and equipment environment.
Follow all company safety policies, procedures, and safe work practices.
Perform other transportation and heavy haul duties as required.
Requirements
5+ years of experience hauling heavy equipment, off-road, and oversized loads
Class 1 License
Strong knowledge of load securement, weight distribution, troubleshooting, and provincial hauling requirements for oversized moves.
Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
Ability to perform manual tasks related to heavy haul operations.
Ability to work in a fast-paced,
dynamic environment and follow safety protocols.
Previous experience in a construction or oil & gas industry is considered an asset.
Must pass a pre-employment drug and alcohol test including cannabis
