Qualifications
2+ years in office administration, preferably in non-profit or community services.
Experience working with Older Adults is an asset.
Requirements for Ongoing Employment
Criminal Record Check renewable every 5 years
Valid WorkSafeBC-approved First Aid Certificate
Use of safe, well-maintained personal vehicle.
Ability to work a flexible schedule from time to time.

Strong organizational and administrative skills, including scheduling, record keeping, documentation, and coordinating multiple priorities.
Strong written and verbal communication skills and the ability to communicate effectively with participants, staff, volunteers, and community partners.
Ability to maintain accurate records, compile program data, and support program and outcome reporting.
Ability to provide basic financial administration, including invoicing, receiving and posting payments, and monitoring accounts receivable.
Ability to use digital systems effectively, including participant information systems, e-mail, and standard office applications.
Ability to work independently, use good judgment, take initiative, and collaborate effectively as part of a team.
List of Duties
The Administrative Assistant is the primary administrative support for Gerry Gray Place and its seniors’ programs, including Better at Home and Supporting Older Adults through Recreation (SOAR) programs.
The position ensures that administrative systems, documentation, communication, Better at Home Housekeeper scheduling, financial tracking, and daily operational supports are accurate, efficient, and effective for program delivery.
The Administrative Assistant coordinates flexible, self-directed administrative support for Gerry Gray Place staff, volunteers, participants, and community partners.
This includes supporting access to services and information, maintaining program records and communications, coordinating participant-centred service delivery, and assisting with reporting, financial administration, volunteer scheduling, and daily program operations.
