Please note this is a temporary position while our current Yard Worker is off due to injury.
We are looking for a hardworking yard worker to monitor and maintain our company’s grounds. In this position you will be require to perform general landscaping duties, operate ground maintenance equipment, apply fertilizers, run the irrigation system, and maintain the natural aesthetics of the grounds.
Yard Worker Responsibilities
Meeting with company managers to discuss daily tasks
Assessing the health of the soil, grass, trees, and general grounds
Inspecting and report any irrigation system issues you may find to manager
Applying fertilizers to the soil and pesticides to the flowering plants
Identifying and extracting weeds
Mowing the grass with a ride-on mowers and using a weedwhacker
Trimming bushes, small trees, and shrubs
Operating the irrigation equipment
Raking/ blowing and removing leaves throughout the grounds
Assisting the other workers with loading and unloading delivery trucks with plant material
Using the tractor to move, load and unload material throughout the yard
Yard Worker Requirements
Previous experience as a yard worker is preferred.
Knowledge of Horticulture and Agronomy is a bonus but not necessary.
Experience in operating mechanical landscaping equipment is an advantage.
Knowledge of irrigation systems is preferred.
Knowledge of fertilizers and pesticides.
Detail-oriented.
Ability to work in harsh weather conditions.
Physically fit and able to lift heavy objects.
Pay: $18.25-$24.00 per hour
