Salary: $119,088 - $133,957

Position Purpose The position of Mental Health Lead provides leadership in aligning and implementing the board wide Mental Healthand Addictions Strategy.

Duties And Responsibilities

- Develop annual action plans to support the implementation of goals in the multi-year LDSB strategy.
- Provides expertise and leadership in the development and implementation of crisis response protocols.
- Liaise and collaborate with School Mental Health Ontario to support LDSB planning and capacity building that focuses on addressing student mental health, substance use and addictions needs in schools.
- Drawing on clinical and leadership experiences, coordinates and facilitates mental health literacy programming for a range of staff group with in LDSB.
- Works with community partners to enhance the system of care for students and caregivers and to facilitate navigation for students and their families.
- Represents the Board on professional and community committees and working groups,



fostering partnerships that support student mental health and well-being.
- Collaborates with community service providers to strengthen pathways to/through/from care and helps school staff and caregivers access appropriate services for students.
- Participates in Ministry level meetings to inform planning at the provincial level, including reporting to the Ministry of Education and School Mental Health Ontario as required annually on project activities.
- Supervision of staff (including hiring and assigning staff based on need and referral information, orienting/training, managing, and evaluating staff performances, monitoring and approving budgetary expenses).
- Provides consultation and systems-level support to Board Care and Treatment Education Programs (CTEP), collaborating on student admissions and demissions, program operations, and administrative processes to ensure coordinated, effective mental health services.
- Oversee Ministry and board-funded mental health budgets, ensuring responsible use of resources and compliance with funding and reporting requirements.
- Other role-related projects and/or responsibilities, as required.

Qualifications And Required Skills

- Graduate degree (Masters or PhD) in Social Work, Clinical/School Psychology or Psychiatry
- Eligible for registration with the College governing mental health professionals (ex. OCSWSSW, CPBAO)
- Minimum of three (3) years of related experience
- Extensive clinical experience within a school district setting across the tiers of mental health intervention (promotion, prevention, intervention, crisis, system navigation)




- Fluent understanding of evidence-informed practice, measurement-based care, implementation science and knowledge mobilization in schools
- Demonstrated knowledge and experience in strategy development, coordination, and implementation in the area of mental health
- Experience providing and/or facilitating adult learning, skilled learning and training
- Working knowledge of the elementary and secondary education systems in Ontario
- Excellent verbal and written communication, coordination and organizations skills
