Horizon Recruitmen t is recruiting for a Bookkeeper to join a growing public practice firm in Langley, BC. This role will support a portfolio of incorporated businesses that rely on accurate, timely bookkeeping to keep their financial operations running smoothly.

Working closely with the Bookkeeping Manager and accounting team, you will take ownership of day-to-day client files while building strong relationships with business owners. This is a full-time, in-office opportunity for an experienced bookkeeper or a developing professional who wants to grow their skills in a supportive public practice environment.

Responsibilities

Manage full-cycle bookkeeping for a portfolio of incorporated business clients

Complete accounts payable, accounts receivable, bank and credit card reconciliations, and general ledger entries

Process payroll and source deductions accurately and on schedule

Prepare GST, PST, and WCB filings for assigned clients

Support month-end and year-end close activities and prepare files for review

Maintain accurate and organized client records using QuickBooks Online, QuickBooks Desktop, and other practice management tools

Track time and activity across client files to support accurate billing

Communicate directly with clients to resolve routine bookkeeping questions and collect required information

Identify discrepancies, missing information, and process gaps early and work with the team to resolve them

Escalate complex accounting or client matters to the Bookkeeping Manager or accounting team as needed





Balance multiple client files and deadlines while maintaining a high standard of accuracy and service

Requirements

Previous full-cycle bookkeeping experience, ideally in public practice or an outsourced bookkeeping workplace

Proficiency with QuickBooks Online and QuickBooks Desktop

Working knowledge of payroll, source deductions, GST, PST, and WCB requirements in British Columbia

Comfortable tracking billable time across multiple client files

Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain accurate, well-organized records

Ability to manage competing deadlines and priorities

Clear communication skills and confidence working directly with clients

Experience with Carbon CRM or similar practice management software is an asset

CPB designation, accounting technician training, or equivalent education is an asset

Junior candidates with a strong bookkeeping foundation and willingness to learn are encouraged to apply

Ability to work full-time in the Langley office

Remuneration

The expected salary range is $65,000 to $75,000 per year, based on experience and qualifications. Candidates earlier in their careers may be considered in the $50,000 to $60,000 range, with flexibility for accomplished junior candidates.
