Job Type:
Full-Time Permanent (Monday to Friday, 7:00 AM–4:00 PM, with availability for overtime and weekend work as required.)

Position Summary:
We are looking for a motivated, organized, and hands‑on Yard Manager to oversee the day to day operations of our Prince George yard.

The successful candidate will be responsible for keeping the yard organized and running efficiently, coordinating equipment and material movements, and ensuring equipment is ready when required. This is a hands‑on position for someone with a strong sense of urgency, excellent organizational skills, and the ability to take ownership and get things done. The candidate must be able to operate an excavator. This is a full time, permanent position based on‑site at our Prince George yard.

Responsibilities

Oversee day‑to‑day yard operations, organization, and safety

Liaise with the Langley Yard Manager regarding shipments, equipment transfers, mobilizations/demobilizations, and inventory requirements

Coordinate inbound and outbound shipments and freight

Ensure equipment and materials are properly staged, cleaned, and ready for projects

Work with project teams, operators, drivers, mechanics, and management

Operate equipment as required

Identify issues proactively and respond with a sense of urgency





Qualifications

Previous experience in a yard, construction, heavy equipment, or industrial setting

Strong organizational and time management skills

Strong sense of urgency and ability to prioritize tasks

Self‑motivated with the ability to work independently

Strong communication and problem‑solving skills

Excavator operating experience

Experience operating other heavy equipment is an asset

Previous supervisory or leadership experience is an asset

Safety Requirements

Valid Class 5 driver's license required

Valid First Aid training is an asset

Equipment operator certifications are an asset

Rigging and hoisting experience, including proper use of slings, shackles, chains, and lifting equipment required, formal rigging certification is an asset

Familiarity with construction safety procedures and safe work practices is required.

Working Conditions

Outdoor work in varying weather conditions

Frequent lifting, carrying, and moving of materials and equipment

Combination of equipment operation and physical labour throughout the workday

Required PPE includes work boots and hard hat; additional PPE will be provided as needed.

Compensation: $40 to $42 per hour

We're looking for someone who is dependable, proactive, hands‑on, and takes pride in keeping things organized and moving. You should be comfortable working in a construction environment and able to recognize what needs to be done and take action.
