POSITION SUMMARY The Municipality of the County of Inverness is seeking an Onsite Construction Coordinator for a one-year term, with the possibility of extension. This role is pivotal in facilitating the planning, oversight, and execution of various Municipal projects, ensuring adherence to budget, scheduling, regulatory, safety standards, and process integrity. The Onsite Construction Coordinator will help manage construction activities across multiple project sites within the municipality, providing leadership in onsite construction safety, quality assurance, and geomatic data collection.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES Plan, schedule, organize, and evaluate construction projects, including the development and monitoring of construction timelines and ensuring adherence to
Collaborate with municipal teams to establish project priorities and work
Assist with budget preparation and procurement efforts, upholding construction standards and tracking project
Assist in contract preparation and negotiation with
Lead and oversee onsite construction safety, ensuring the implementation of safety protocols in compliance with regulations and safety standards, including leadership in onsite construction safety.
Review design drawings and specifications, providing feedback on construction
Assist with the coordination of safety programs, engineering, and contract
Manage project documentation, maintain daily project logs.
Oversee multiple projects, and travel to sites as required, optimizing resource
Facilitate change order processes and adjust schedules as
Oversee field inspections, perform measurements, enforce infrastructure testing requirements, and ensure compliance with project documents, standards, and specifications aligned with quality assurance.
Conduct safety inspections and audits to identify and mitigate potential
Foster relationships and collaborate with surveying teams and stakeholders to collect survey data and utilize geomatics to confirm acceptance of work, ensuring accuracy and reliability for project documentation and reporting.
Implement quality control measures and identify any deviations from project requirements to maintain quality assurance and collaborate with project teams to develop and implement corrective actions as
Collaborate with stakeholders to address safety concerns and review contractor site-specific safety plans, ensure adherence to safety regulations, and provide guidance and support to project teams in maintaining a protected working
Ensure timely completion of inspections and final
Lead and participate in toolbox
Collaborate with Senior Management to develop, implement, and adhere to a municipal UAV (Unmanned Aerial Vehicle) Program, and participate in required training.
Support municipal departments with UAV/drone operations to aid in planning, development, and maintenance activities; including inspections, land surveying, mapping, and environmental monitoring, as required, ensuring full compliance with all required permissions, regulations, and policies.

QUALIFICATIONS Post-secondary education or certification in a related field (or equivalent experience).
Degrees, diplomas, certifications, and other formal education related to construction project management are considered an asset.
Construction project management and demonstrated experience in the construction industry is preferred.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook).
Valid Driver’s License, with a clean drivers abstract, and access to reliable transportation is required.
WORK ENVIRONMENT Office and outdoor environment that includes exposure to varying weather conditions such as heat, cold, rain, snow, and high winds.
Safety sensitive locations include roadways, construction zones, municipal properties, and remote or uneven terrain requiring proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE).
Frequent standing, walking, lifting, bending, and manual labour for extended periods.
