As the Payroll Specialist, you will run payroll for employees across Canada and the US. You will be the primary payroll contact, managing all payroll entries, adjustments, calculations and reporting. You will be responsible for processing payroll requirements for new hires and departing employees. You will support with reporting deadlines and ensure reliable, accurate information is provided to key decision makers in a timely manner.

As Payroll Specialist, you will:
Create and maintain employee payroll records for retail (Canada + US), warehouse and corporate employees (including hourly and salaried employees)
Process weekly and bi-weekly pay run in Canada and US (or additional pay runs and manual payments as needed)
Process new hires, terminations, salary and wage changes, bonuses, retroactive payments, deductions, and other payroll adjustments.
Analyze time sheets and verify all payroll timesheets
Remit source deductions for routine remittances and all government related requests
Manage employee’s queries on payroll related issues
Conduct all year end required taxes- process T4, T4As, W2 Create and maintain reports as requested
Benefits Administration, including enrollment, changes, terminations, and monthly invoice reconciliation.
Prepare payroll reconciliations, payroll accruals, labour forecasts, variance reports, and other payroll-related reports.
Perform ad hoc duties as required to support growth in business

What We’re Looking For:
3-5 years of experience in full-cycle payroll processing, including compliance and year-end activities (T4s, W-2s, ROEs)
Experience running payroll across Canada and the US, with working knowledge of multi-provincial and multi-state tax and remittance requirements
Experience acting as the primary payroll point of contact in a fast-paced, high-volume environment
Payroll Compliance Professional (PCP) designation, or progress toward the designation, considered an asset
Strong working knowledge of ADP
Advanced proficiency with MS Excel
Experience with payroll system implementations or migrations considered an asset
Ability to manage multiple deadlines and competing priorities, working both independently and collaboratively within a team
Strong written and oral communication skills
Ability to communicate and coach effectively at all levels
Adaptable, resourceful, and solutions-oriented
Commitment to continuous learning and professional growth
Ability to present ideas and recommendations in a professional, organized, and logical manner
