Salary Range: $45.00 To $55.00 Hourly

The Work Is Already Here. We Need Another Great Technician.

If you’re a productive Red Seal technician , you shouldn’t have to spend your day waiting for the next repair order.

At Bannister GP Kia , our customer-pay business is growing, vehicle sales are taking off, and our used-vehicle department is generating a steady stream of reconditioning work. We have more work than our current team can comfortably handle—and we’re adding another technician to help us keep pace.

That means a strong mix of maintenance, brakes, suspension, inspections, used-car reconditioning, warranty repairs, and diagnostics. There are plenty of productive, straightforward “gravy hours” available, along with more challenging work that keeps your skills sharp.

We’re looking for a Red Seal Automotive Service Technician who wants to flag hours, produce quality work, and grow with a dealership that is building momentum.

Why This Opportunity Is Different:
This isn’t a position built around the promise that more work might come. The work is here now.

Our growing service business and accelerating new- and used-vehicle sales are creating consistent demand across the shop. Used-car reconditioning provides another dependable source of hours, helping keep technicians productive while supporting the continued growth of the entire dealership.

You’ll have the opportunity to:

Work from an established and growing repair-order pipeline

Flag strong hours through a healthy mix of maintenance, repair, and reconditioning work

Balance productive “gravy” jobs with advanced diagnostic and technical repairs

Work with modern Kia vehicles, technology, diagnostic equipment, and OEM repair information

Build your career inside a growing dealership and across Bannister Automotive Group

What You’ll Be Doing:

Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, and drivability concerns

Perform scheduled maintenance and general mechanical repairs

Complete brake, steering, suspension, tire, and alignment-related work

Inspect and recondition used vehicles efficiently and thoroughly

Complete accurate multi-point inspections and document required or recommended repairs

Follow Kia OEM procedures, technical information, and quality standards

Communicate clearly with Service Advisors and Parts personnel

Complete repair orders accurately and provide detailed technician notes

Perform post-repair road tests and quality-control inspections

Maintain an organized, productive, and safe work area

Support apprentices and contribute to a positive, team-oriented shop

What You Bring:

Alberta Journeyperson certification or recognized equivalent

Strong mechanical, electrical, and diagnostic capabilities

The ability to produce efficiently without sacrificing workmanship

Pride in fixing vehicles correctly the first time

Robust inspection and documentation habits

Comfort using scan tools, diagnostic equipment, repair software, and OEM information

A productive, team-first attitude

Valid driver’s licence with an acceptable driving abstract

Kia or dealership experience is an asset, but it is not required. What matters most is your ability, productivity,

professionalism, and willingness to contribute to a growing operation.

What We Offer:

Competitive flat-rate compensation based on experience and demonstrated ability

A busy shop with work already waiting

Strong earning potential for productive technicians

Consistent used-vehicle reconditioning generated by growing vehicle sales

A varied workload that includes customer-pay, warranty, maintenance, diagnostic, and recon work

Extended health, dental, and vision benefits

Group RSP contribution program

Kia OEM training and continued technical development

Career advancement within Bannister GP Kia

Group-wide opportunities across Bannister Automotive Group

Relocation assistance available for the right candidate

A professional, supportive shop where strong performance is recognized

Grow with Bannister:
Bannister Automotive Group has served communities across Western Canada for more than 40 years and has been recognized as one of Canada’s Best Managed Companies.

As the group continues to grow, so do the opportunities available to our people. Your next step may be joining a busier shop and flagging more hours—but your longer-term path could include advanced diagnostics, shop leadership, foreperson responsibilities, technical training, service management, or opportunities elsewhere within the Bannister group.

At Bannister GP Kia , we’re not hiring in anticipation of growth. We’re hiring because the growth is already happening.

We look forward to meeting you.

Bannister Automotive Group is an equal-opportunity employer committed to a respectful and inclusive workplace. Accommodations are available upon request throughout the recruitment process.
