Become a Co-op Career Advisor with the Faculty of Applied Science at UBC. This role focuses on advising students, managing partnerships, and enhancing career readiness in a hands-on capacity.
The Co-op Career Advisor and Industry Partner will oversee the Applied Science Co-op Program. This position will involve developing strategies for student recruitment, administering career readiness curricula, and facilitating workplace learning experiences. You will have the opportunity to collaborate with employers and coordinate co-op work placements for around 3,500 students, ensuring their success and addressing any workplace challenges they encounter.
Key Responsibilities:
• Provide one-on-one and group advising for co-op students
• Develop recruitment strategies for co-operative education
• Monitor and evaluate co-op work terms and student placements
• Coach students on career development and job search topics
• Maintain relationships with local and national industry partners
Requirements:
• Experience in career advising or co-operative education
• Strong coaching and communication skills
• Ability to handle workplace issues
• Proven organizational and administrative expertise
• Knowledge of national accreditation standards
