Elevate campus security as a Lead Investigator with the University of Ottawa's Protection Services. This management role demands expertise in complex investigations and team leadership.
Reporting to the Senior Manager, the Lead Investigator takes charge of on-campus investigations, addressing both criminal and non-criminal activities. Your role involves analyzing trends in security incidents, managing case evaluations, and ensuring compliance with Canadian laws. You’ll collaborate closely with internal and external partners to ensure comprehensive security measures.
Key Responsibilities:
• Oversee all investigations regarding campus complaints
• Conduct complex threat assessments and provide expert advice
• Manage statistical reporting on security incidents
• Facilitate case management for individuals and Units
• Recruit, train, and lead team members in investigations
Requirements:
• Post-secondary education in Law and Security or equivalent
• 5-7 years of investigative experience in security
• 3-5 years leading a team
• Knowledge of Canadian laws and court procedures
• Excellent communication and analytical skills
