Take on a meaningful role as a Restorative Justice By-Law Worker with Nishnawbe-Aski Legal Services Corporation in Thunder Bay, ON. This position offers an opportunity to lead the Restorative Justice Initiative, a pilot program aimed at enhancing community justice mechanisms.
You will work independently while collaborating with First Nations, applying restorative techniques for managing by-law issues. Your experience and knowledge within the legal system will greatly benefit this initiative. Key Responsibilities:
- Implement and report on community justice initiatives
- Facilitate restorative justice processes for by-law violations
- Educate communities on the importance of restorative practices
- Manage sensitive information with robust attention to detail
- Work collaboratively with NAN and first nation communities Requirements:
- Minimum secondary school diploma with relevant experience
- Familiarity with the justice system and Aboriginal communities
- Understanding of by-laws and their significance
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
