Join the University of Toronto as a Full time Assistant Professor of African and/or Caribbean Francophone Literature beginning July 1, 2027. Your teaching and research expertise will be pivotal to the Department of French's commitment to diversity and academic excellence.
The successful candidate must hold a PhD in Francophone Literature or a related discipline, demonstrating robust research and teaching capabilities. You will be integrating cutting-edge approaches in pedagogy while collaborating with interdisciplinary centers dedicated to African and Caribbean studies.
Key Responsibilities:
• Develop and manage an independent research program • Teach graduate-level courses in Francophone literature • Mentor graduate students and support their research • Collaborate with various academic centers • Contribute to departmental service and outreach efforts
Requirements: • Doctorate in Francophone Literature or equivalent • A record of impactful research and publications • High proficiency in French and English • Effective teaching experience in higher education • Solid commitment to equity, diversity, and inclusion
