We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated 60-ton Tug Captain to lead and operate small tugboats dedicated to maritime maneuvering and vessel assistance. In this vital role, you will be responsible for safely navigating and controlling powerful tugboats to assist with docking, undocking, and positioning of ships within busy port environments. Your expertise will ensure smooth, efficient operations while maintaining the highest safety standards.

Duties
Operate and command 60-ton tugboats with precision, ensuring safe maneuvering of vessels during docking and undocking procedures
Conduct thorough pre-operation inspections of tugboat systems, including engines, rigging, and safety equipment
Coordinate with port authorities, vessel crews, and dock personnel to facilitate productive vessel movements
Execute rigging tasks such as securing towlines, mooring lines, and other equipment necessary for vessel handling
Maintain detailed logs of all operations, including navigation routes, safety checks, and incident reports
Monitor mechanical systems continuously,
troubleshooting issues promptly to prevent operational delays
Lead crew members during shifts, providing clear instructions and ensuring adherence to safety protocols
Qualifications
Valid maritime captain’s license with certification for operating vessels of similar size and tonnage
Proven experience operating 60-ton or larger tugboats in port or harbor environments
Strong knowledge of rigging techniques used in vessel towing and mooring operations
Mechanical knowledge of marine engines, hydraulic systems, and safety equipment is essential
Excellent leadership skills with the ability to manage crew members effectively under pressure
Ability to perform detailed inspections and maintenance checks on tugboat systems
