Lead AECL's efforts in Decommissioning and Waste Management as a Director, focusing on sustainable practices and robust environmental stewardship. This role operates under a hybrid model, promoting collaboration and strategic outcomes.
As the Director, you will play a crucial role in managing AECL's radioactive waste liabilities while overseeing decommissioning projects. Reporting to the Executive Vice President, your responsibilities will entail monitoring team performance and collaborating with various stakeholders, including Indigenous communities, to promote mutual understanding and respect. You will focus on ensuring accountability and transparency in all operations while driving forward AECL’s mission of responsible waste management.
Key Responsibilities:
• Evaluate contractor performance and assess project milestones
• Lead environmental remediation and stewardship initiatives
• Facilitate inter-agency communication and collaboration
• Implement risk management strategies for project oversight
• Provide governance support to executive decision-making
Requirements:
• Bachelor's degree in Environmental Management or related field
• Professional certifications are advantageous
• Extensive experience in nuclear waste management
• Proven track record in complex program assessment
• Strong leadership and relationship management skills
