Senior Engineering Manager, Containers at the Edge
The Containers at the Edge team is responsible for architecting, deploying, and managing our distributed container infrastructure at the edge in support of customer workloads. As Senior Engineering Manager of the team, you will hire and lead a high-performing engineering team to ensure low latency, high availability, and secure application delivery across a geographically diverse fleet of thousands of resource-constrained nodes. You will foster a culture of technical rigor, operational excellence, and innovation across the entire platform domain, moving beyond single-team execution to driving cross-organizational advancements. While reliability is critical, innovation is key to success -driving strategic improvements, building foundational team processes and software systems that continually evolve..

What You'll Do:

Define the long-term strategic vision and multi-year technical roadmap,ensuring these investments align with the company’s overall business

Hire and develop a high-performing team that includes software engineers, principal-level individual contributors and SREs, focusing on organizational structure, talent development, and scaling team capabilities to meet future demand





Collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders using a product-owner mindset to define clear roadmaps and priorities

Clearly communicate the strategy, progress, and risk profile to executive leadership and technical stakeholders across the company

You will need to leverage deep, related technical experience to succeed in this role, including your own development contributions

What We're Looking For:

4+ years of experience managing Software Engineering or Site Reliability Engineering teams.

10+ years of related technical experience with distributed systems, CDN, or cloud infrastructure such as container networking, platform ownership, virtualization technology.

Extensive hands-on experience in software development using Go, Rust, or C/C++.

Demonstrated ability to drive a durable technical roadmap and facilitate effective collaboration in cross-functional teams.

Experience building and automating large scale production infrastructure in on-prem environments within a complex and dynamic networking environment.

Extensive hands on experience working in a Linux environment with a solid understanding of system internals and performance optimization.

We’ll be super impressed if you have experience in any of these:

Experience participating in open source communities or standards bodies

Experience transforming production enterprise scale environment to new technologies

Experience adopting or operating in high compliance production environments

Work Hours:





This position will require you to be available during core business hours and occasional nights and weekends as necessary to support any on-call coverage.

the company currently embraces a largely hybrid model for most roles which allows employees flexibility to split their time between the office and home.

There is a strong preference for Hybrid near a local office. However, we may be willing to consider exceptionally qualified remote candidates within the US.

This position may require travel as required by your role or requested by your manager.

Salary:
The estimated salary range for this position is $228,280 to $273,936.

Starting salary may vary based on permissible, non-discriminatory factors such as experience, skills, qualifications, and location.

This role may be eligible to participate in the company’s equity and discretionary bonus programs.
