Job Overview
We are seeking a reliable, safety-focused, and experienced Traffic Control Person (TCP) to join CLS Construction Labour Solutions. In this role, you will be responsible for safely directing traffic around work zones, helping to protect workers, motorists, and pedestrians while maintaining safe and efficient traffic flow.
As a labour hire agency, assignments may be located at various construction sites throughout Vancouver, Burnaby, North Vancouver, and the Lower Mainland, with work locations varying based on client needs.
Key Responsibilities
- Set up, maintain, and remove traffic control devices such as cones, signs, and barriers in accordance with site requirements, Traffic Management Plans (TMPs), and applicable safety regulations.
- Follow site-specific traffic control plans, procedures, and instructions.
- Direct vehicle and pedestrian traffic safely and efficiently around construction zones.
- Monitor traffic and site conditions and adjust traffic control measures as required to maintain safety.
- Communicate clearly and professionally with crew members, supervisors, motorists, pedestrians, and the public.
- Maintain a high level of awareness and respond appropriately to changing site conditions.
- Ensure compliance with site safety policies and applicable traffic control standards.
- Work collaboratively with site teams to maintain a safe and organized work zone.
Qualifications & Skills
- Valid Traffic Control Person (TCP) certification (required).
- Minimum of 1 year of experience working as a TCP.
- Strong understanding of traffic control procedures and construction site safety.
- Ability to follow traffic control plans, site instructions, and safety procedures.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to remain alert, focused, and professional in a rapid-paced environment.
- Reliable, punctual, and committed to workplace safety.
- Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions.
- Previous construction site experience is an asset.
