You have spent years mastering the trade. Now you are ready to lead the floor.
We are recruiting for a Trailer Technician Lead Hand / Foreman to join a permanent, full-time team at a leading Canadian manufacturer with deep operational roots in Moncton. This role is built for an experienced technician who still wants to work with their hands — but is also ready to guide, mentor, and set the standard for everyone around them.
What You Will Do
Leadership & Operations
- Lead and support a team of trailer mechanics and apprentices during daily shop operations.
- Assign tasks, set priorities, and ensure timely, high-quality completion of all work.
- Provide hands-on technical support, troubleshooting guidance, and mentorship to team members.
- Assist with training and development, particularly for apprentices and junior technicians.
- Coordinate with management to plan and manage shop workflow.
- Ensure strict adherence to safe work practices and company safety standards.
- Maintain shop organization, cleanliness, and operational readiness.
- Assist with administrative accountability: work order accuracy, documentation, time tracking, and service recordkeeping.
Technical & Repair Work
- Diagnose and repair mechanical and electrical systems on commercial trailers, including:
- ABS/EBS and air brake systems
- Electrical wiring, lighting, and connectors
- Suspensions (air ride and spring)
- Landing gear, axles, hubs, and bearings
- Floors, roofs, doors, railings, and general structural components
- Perform preventative maintenance, routine inspections, and Annual Trailer Inspections.
- Ensure all repairs meet regulatory, safety, and manufacturer standards.
- Maintain accurate repair records, parts usage logs,
and detailed service notes.
Who You Are You are a licensed or highly experienced technician with a demonstrated track record of quality work and professional reliability. You do not just execute repairs — you see the full picture, identify root causes, and teach others to do the same. You are comfortable operating diagnostic equipment, hand tools, and power tools with precision and safety.
You communicate clearly with supervisors, peers, and junior staff. You hold yourself and your team to regulatory standards without being reminded, and you understand that documentation and shop organization are part of the craft. You are ready to step into a frontline leadership role and contribute directly to operational excellence.
What Is Offered
- Compensation: $26.53 to $34.46 per hour, negotiable based on experience and certification.
- Health & Retirement: Full Blue Cross benefits and a company-matching pension plan.
- Tools: Professional-grade Milwaukee tools supplied by the employer.
