Roch Logistics is looking for a motivated, outgoing person to join our Sales & Operations team. You'll work directly with customers, quote and coordinate freight, solve day-to-day transportation challenges, and have the opportunity to develop and grow your own customer relationships.
Responsibilities
- Managing and servicing assigned customer accounts
- Quoting freight and negotiating rates
- Booking/sourcing carriers
- Coordinating pickups and deliveries
- Monitoring shipments and resolving problems
- Handling appointments and documentation
- Following up with inactive/existing customers
- Looking for additional freight from current accounts
- Developing some new business
- Eventually building and managing their own book of business
- Working directly in the day-to-day transportation operation
Skills Required
- Strong customer service and relationship-building skills
- Excellent verbal and written communication
- Comfortable speaking with customers and carriers by phone
- Strong negotiation and problem-solving abilities
- Sales-minded with the ability to identify opportunities and grow customer accounts
- Ability to quote freight and make quick decisions
- Solid organization and time-management skills
- Ability to manage multiple shipments and priorities simultaneously
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced transportation environment
- Strong attention to detail
- Ability to take ownership of customer requests and shipments from start to finish
- Comfortable dealing with unexpected problems and changing priorities
- Ability to work independently while contributing to a team
- Basic proficiency with Microsoft Outlook, Excel and computer systems
- Transportation/logistics experience is an asset, but not necessarily required
- Bilingual French/English is a strong asset
- Positive, motivated and proactive attitude
- Willingness to learn the transportation industry and develop professionally
