In this full time position, you will manage NWMO’s technical research initiatives, particularly regarding the Deep Geological Repository (DGR). This role requires collaboration with universities and regulatory bodies to ensure effective communication of research outcomes and alignment with NWMO’s strategic objectives, fostering a strong safety culture across the organization.
Key Responsibilities:
• Directly manage technical research and development programs
• Provide governance via NWMO’s Technical Review Committee
• Develop and oversee regulatory and strategic research documents
• Facilitate national and international R&D; collaborations
• Network with Canadian universities and industry research groups
Requirements:
• Expertise in technical research program management
• Comprehensive understanding of engineering barriers in nuclear waste
• Proven experience in stakeholder engagement and communication
• Ability to lead interdisciplinary teams effectively
