In this position, you will provide operational coverage across four locations in Cambridge and one in Guelph. You will greet patients, perform necessary tests including phlebotomy and ECGs, and ensure the accuracy of documentation related to specimen collection. Your contributions will enhance the quality of care for patients.
Key Responsibilities:
• Welcome patients and explain specimen collection procedures
• Perform required phlebotomies and ECG tracings
• Conduct special test collections and related paperwork
• Maintain patient relationships through timely communication
• Prepare specimens for transport and analysis
Requirements:
• Completion of a Laboratory Assistant program preferred
• Experience in phlebotomy is an asset
• Familiarity with ECG processes beneficial
• Proficient typing skills; minimum 40 wpm
• Excellent patient service skills under pressure
