Grounds Crew Wanted: Help Us Keep a Major Sporting Weekend Spotless
Thousands of athletes and spectators are about to descend on Calabogie, Ontario for a weekend of world-class endurance racing — and none of it works without a sharp, dependable grounds crew behind the scenes. We're looking for two Waste Management Staff to keep the event site clean, safe, and presentable from the opening whistle to the final finisher.
This isn't a long-term commitment — it's a focused two-day gig with a globally recognized event organizer, ideal if you want solid pay, a physically active day, and the satisfaction of being part of something bigger than a typical shift job.
Why This Opportunity Is Different
You're not just picking up trash — you're one of the people who makes a world-class event feel world-class. You'll work alongside an experienced Event Operations team, get clear direction throughout the day, and walk away with real event-industry experience that TAPP can match to future opportunities if you're interested in more work like this down the line.
What You’ll Be Doing:
Keeping the event grounds clean and presentable throughout each shift, including participant areas, spectator zones, walkways, and common spaces
Removing filled garbage bags, replacing them with fresh ones,
and returning bins to their proper spots
Proactively monitoring waste bins across the site and servicing them before they overflow, especially during peak periods
Keeping waste collection areas tidy and hazard-free
Flagging spills, overflowing bins, damaged equipment, or safety concerns to the on-site supervisor right away
Jumping in on general site tidying as directed by the Event Operations team
What We’re Looking For:
No formal experience required — previous cleaning, janitorial, or event/general labour experience is a bonus
Comfortable working independently and as part of a wider event crew
Solid attention to detail and genuine pride in keeping a space clean
Reliable and punctual, able to commit to both full shift days
Able to follow verbal instructions and on-site safety procedures
Positive, professional manner around participants, spectators, and staff
Able to stand, walk, bend, and lift for the duration of an 8-hour shift, including carrying filled garbage bags
Comfortable working outdoors in variable weather
Compensation & Work Model: $22.00 per hour, approximately 16 hours total across two shift days. Onsite role at the event grounds.
Location & Travel: Calabogie, Ontario. Shifts run Saturday, August 22, 2026 and Sunday, August 23, 2026, 9:00 AM – 5:00 PM EDT both days.
