Become an Early Childhood Educator with the Aboriginal Head Start Association of BC in Nanaimo, focused on caring for children aged 3-5. This full time position emphasizes inclusivity and Indigenous cultural immersion.
The successful candidate will play a key role in creating supportive, engaging learning environments informed by Indigenous principles and family values. You will be responsible for developing child-led programming that fosters curiosity and connection among children and their communities. Strong collaboration and interpersonal skills are essential for building relationships with children, families, and fellow educators.
Key Responsibilities:
• Engage daily in an inclusive childcare program
• Partner with families to guide child support strategies
• Facilitate integrative case management planning
• Design daily programming aligned with AHS and BC standards
• Incorporate Indigenous wellness perspectives in education
Requirements:
• Basic ECE credentials; ECE-SN preferred
• Must hold First Aid certification
• Minimum 2 years experience in early childhood settings
• Deep commitment to equity in education
• Strong teamwork and communication abilities
Contribute to the impactful work of AHS and enrich children's lives through education in Nanaimo.
