Scope of Work / Tasks Join a major SAP modernization initiative supporting the transition to SAP S/4HANA Cloud, Private Edition. The successful consultant will provide senior-level SAP ABAP development and technical support across Finance, Real Estate, Plant Maintenance, Project Systems, and other SAP business applications.
Provide production support for the existing SAP landscape and the transition to S/4HANA.
Investigate, troubleshoot, and resolve reported SAP issues.
Develop fixes, enhancements, and custom code modifications as required.
Support SAP S/4HANA Private Cloud implementation and conversion activities.
Perform custom code remediation and modernization in alignment with S/4HANA requirements.
Support annual SAP Support Package upgrades, including issue investigation, fixes, and code modifications.
Develop and enhance SAP integrations with SAP and non-SAP applications.
Support the migration of applications to SAP Fiori Launchpad.
Leverage SAP CDS and modernize existing reports and applications.
Support process modernization initiatives within Finance and Real Estate.
Apply Selective Data Transition approaches to data migration where required.
Develop and extend SAP applications where standard functionality does not meet business requirements.
Work closely with technical teams, system integrators, and business stakeholders.




Participate in code reviews, monitoring, error handling, and production support.
Support Agile development practices and delivery coordination using tools such as Azure DevOps.
Mandatory Qualifications M1 Minimum fifteen (15) years of hands-on SAP ABAP development experience, including ABAP Objects, debugging, advanced performance optimization, code pushdown, SQL tuning, and runtime improvement of custom programs.
M2 Minimum two (2) years of experience working with SAP S/4HANA on-premise and/or SAP S/4HANA Private Cloud, including at least one end-to-end implementation or conversion involving code remediation, simplification items, and upgrade activities.
M3 Minimum five (5) years of experience integrating SAP and non-SAP applications, including experience with SAP Integration Suite and/or middleware supporting APIs and hybrid integrations.
M4 Hands-on experience with RAP, including delivery of at least one end-to-end application or service, including data modelling and OData exposure.
M5 Minimum five (5) years of experience with ABAP CDS Views, including data modelling, REST services, CDS hierarchies, and embedded analytics enablement.
M6 Minimum two (2) years of experience with SAP extensibility,



including in-app extension development and adherence to clean core principles.
M7 Minimum four (4) years of SAP Fiori/UI5 experience, including configuration, design, development, deployment, debugging, and extensions across front-end and back-end layers.
M8 Minimum three (3) years of experience working in an Agile delivery environment, including use of tools such as Azure DevOps.
M9 Strong knowledge of SAP Finance and/or related business areas, with the ability to understand functional requirements and translate them into technical solutions.
M10 Minimum seven (7) years of experience designing, implementing, configuring, packaging, and deploying custom applications using ABAP object-oriented development principles.
M11 Experience working in a Canadian municipal environment is considered a strong asset.
Education & Certifications M12 A three-year university degree or three-year college diploma in Computer Information Systems or a related discipline.
M13 At least one valid SAP certification is considered an asset.
M14 Recent career development courses completed within the last three years related to SAP or associated technologies are considered an asset.
